How To Build A Pickleball Court?

|

Pickleball is a great game for all ages and can be played either indoors or outdoors.

If you’re lucky enough to have a backyard you can easily build your own pickleball court with a few simple materials.

Here’s everything you need to know to get started.

First you’ll need to find a level spot in your yard that’s large enough to accommodate a pickleball court.

Once you’ve found the perfect spot use a measuring tape to outline the dimensions of the court.

The standard size for a pickleball court is 20 feet wide by 44 feet long but you can adjust the size to fit your needs.

Next use a garden hose or string to mark the boundaries of the court.

Once the boundaries are marked it’s time to start digging! You’ll need to dig a trench around the perimeter of the court that’s about 6 inches deep.

This will be the foundation for your court.

Once the trench is dug it’s time to start laying down the tarps.

You’ll need two tarps that are big enough to cover the entire court.

Overlap the tarps by about 2 feet and use duct tape to secure them in place.

Now it’s time to start adding the sand.

You’ll need to add about 4 inches of sand to the court.

Make sure to evenly distribute the sand so that it’s level.

The last step is to add the net.

The net should be about 3 feet high and should be placed in the middle of the court.

Use stakes to secure the net in place.

And that’s it! You now have your very own pickleball court.

All that’s left to do is invite your friends over and start playing!
